Will a vortex do much good on the flash from a barrel <14.5"? Or would this be more of a 'just for looks' thing. Pics would be great.

I don't find a need for a fancy flash suppressor on a barrel 14.5 inches or longer, unless you need something to blind pin to it.

I had a Smith Enterprises Vortex on my 10.5" M-16, on full auto at night the flash was negligible.

To answer the question will a Vortex do much good on a barrel less than 14.5" the answer is an absolute yes. In fact that is where it counts the most. The shorter the barrel the more important the flash hider selction becomes.

Run one on my 10.5" upper. Works great. I have three of them on SBRs.
