Looking at the YHM website and happened upon the LR 300 series of rifles and uppers/kits.  What makes the gas system so "unique, yet proven" that will allow it to run cleaner?

Anybody have an LR 300?  Wondering what your impressions are, given the costs.

It's a long key.

It's made by YHM.

I wouldn't.

i bought one.

at first i was pissed because the gas tube was not installed completly and the roll pin for the gas tube did not hold it in place. then i had to change out the extractor spring for something a little stronger as it was having a FTE issue.

once i fixed those issues it was fine and i am very happy with it. i bought the SBR 11.5" barrel because i wanted the side folding-telescoping stock. the whole rifle is a little heavier than a normal SBR AR15 but the compact nature makes for a convenient truck gun.

the reliablity has been 100% for the last 500 rounds, after the fixes. accuracy is typical and i consider it good by ar15 standards.

as for its cleaner running, i would say that it does stay cleaner in the bolt and carrier area. i have not cleaned it yet since it was new and it looks much cleaner than my DI uppers do. i did not buy the upper for that reason but its a nice side effect.

not overly fond of the massive hand gaurd but i got use to it.
waiting to decide on the sight set up so i just used some extra parts for now..
