I am getting ready to do my third build and need a little advise. What I plan on doing is using a 16" Carbine upper assembly and removing the FSB and replace it with a low profile gas block. Afterwards, I plan on installing rifle length FF 4-rail handguards. Sights will be by way of rail-mounted flip-up front (Samson) and rear (A.R.M.S. #40A). How does this setup sound? Update: The LCW15 stripped lower and LPK came in today. The lower is now complete with a Magpul CTR MilSpec collapsible stock and ERGO Sure Grip. The CMMG upper should be in late this week or early next week. Upper is a 14.5" M4 1/7 with a permanent Phantom 5C2. It will also arrive with a full-auto BCG. The FSB is replaced with a MI low profile gas block. The FF hanguards are the MI MCTAR-22 rifle length. The CH is upgraded with a PRI "Big Latch". Front and rear sights are MI flip-up type. The side rails will be covered ERGO rail covers. Optic is an Aimpoint Comp ML2 mounted via an A.R.M.S. #22M68 and spacer. A KAC vertical grip will complete the upper. |
| Well, I sat down this morning and ordered a CMMG 14.5" M4 Upper w/Permanent Phantom 5C2, Full-Auto Carrier, PRI Tac-Latch, Anodized Ramps, Midwest Industries Gas Block, Midwest Industires MCTAR-22 2 Piece Free Float Full Length Forearm, Midwest Industries Flip Rear Sight MCT (ERS), Midwest Industies Flip Up Front Sight (Forearm Rail Model), LMT LCW lower receiver and LPK, Magpul CTR Mil-Spec buttstock, and ERGO Sure Grip. Ordered five PMAGS too. I was also able to use my C&R to attain discounts with CMMG and Del-ton. I should have the lower assembled late this week. Should receive the upper in about two weeks. I will post pics as soon as I can. |
