| 20" A2 rifle with a chrome lined chamber and bore? Dad has a HBAR6601 but it is not chrome-lined. Does Colt make a rifle in this configuration with a CL bore and chamber? |
According to the reference (Black Rifle II) the barrel stamp should start with a "C" which stands for Colt, the "MP" which stands for mag particle/proof testing, and then a "B" or "C" which stand for chromed chamber and barrel, or chromed chamber only respectively. The caliber and twist will be there too. In addition, under the handguard will be the barrel "born-on" eg: 12/96, and then what looks like a "o" which is the chrome vendors quality control stamp. The real experts on this Board may dispute some of the details, and they may be right, but that is what the reference says. |
