20" A2 rifle with a chrome lined chamber and bore? Dad has a HBAR6601 but it is not chrome-lined. Does Colt make a rifle in this configuration with a CL bore and chamber?

Well, they used to---when they were building M16A2s for the government. not sure if they still do though.

my Match Target 6601 HBAR is chrome lined.

You could get a surplus M16A2 upper (CL + govt profile) and a Colt lower receiver if you want a complete colt rifle

How do I tell if it is CL? The muzzle crown is black all the way to the rifling.

The barrel marking will include a C

"C MP 1:7 Colt" or something very similar on the barrel.

According to the reference (Black Rifle II) the barrel stamp should start with a "C" which stands for Colt, the "MP" which stands for mag particle/proof testing, and then a "B" or "C" which stand for chromed chamber and barrel, or chromed chamber only respectively. The caliber and twist will be there too.  In addition, under the handguard  will be  the barrel "born-on" eg: 12/96, and then what looks like a "o" which is the chrome vendors quality control stamp.  The real experts on this Board may dispute some of the details, and they may be right, but that is what the reference says.

The "C" you are referring to has nothing to do with chrome.  It simply stands for Colt.  Other than the A1 barrels, Colt barrels with chrome lined chambers and bores have an "O" stamp near the chamber portion of the barrel, although true to Colt being consistently inconsistent, not all of their chrome lined barrels have this stamp.

"O" stamp (which does sometimes look like a "C")

Colt 6550 and 6551 uppers have the 20" A2 barrels (1:7" twist) with chrome lined bores and chambers.  (The 6551 is sans the bayonet lug.)
