| would a rifle with a tool-less quick change barrel system (like the masada) have the same accuracy as a solidly mounted AR barrel. it just seems like an AR would be more accurate because the barrel will be mounted very securely and a quick change barrel would be 'less secure'? any ideas? |
I think that depend on the "quick change barrel system" Maybe... time will tell Mike |

If the mechanism that holds a "quick change" barrel in place were designed to stay in place and retain it's tightness I really don't see how it matters. Do I think we'll see Masadas dominating high power matches? of course not but I bet a few space gun builders could design a space gun with a "quick change" barrel and it wouldn't matter a bit. JMHO Good post, I often ponder stuf like this too. Much better than trying to decide which grip will look the best.

| yeah im just looking for any ideas. have you seen the youtube video of the masada barrel system? ive seen barrel change systems on 249's and stuff and it just seemed like it would be hard to get real accurate with that barrel system. (obviously SAW accuracy doesnt matter much) time will tell. are there any other assault rifles that have quick barrel change systems that are as accurate as an AR? |
