Hello..im thinking of getting a ar type rifle, and was wandering what all is involved if i decided later to go to a different caliber. Im thinking of getting the .50 beuwulf, and was wandering if i didnt like the big bullet, what it would take to change gun to a 308, or even a 223.

Thanks alot

some calibers can utlyze the same AR15 (5.56) std lowers--all you basically have to do is switch out the uppers and bolts
.50beowulf, 6.5, 6.8, 458s, etc are just a few

h/w, some of the longer cartriges, such as the .260, .308, etc require that you switch to a larger platform (same AR system though)--specifically more along the lines of the AR-10 sized system
these are NOT compatable w/ std 5.56 AR lowers, but require its own lowers/uppers, etc

for now, i'd suggest you decide what your AR is going to be used for to sellect what caliber you want; then, decide which is best for your uses
