My current Ar is lonely and needs a mate. I want a Bushmaster this time I think. I am pondering getting either the M-4 ORC or a Flat top with Irons… I want to tactical it up with scopes and other goodies, but may not have the funds to do that quite yet… Suggestions???

build a better rifle yourself and save money for other goodies.

My suggestion is get something customized from a reputable dealer on this site.  The Bushmaster service dept has been great when I've needed them, but I didn't like my Bushmaster all that well compared to my Sabre Defense or my LMT, so sold it and haven't  wanted it back.

building one is intruiging, but I dont have the time and I would need to be babysat too, as I dont trust myself not to make any mistakes. I have a MP-15, which I have been very happy with, but I want one plain AR and one I can goodie up...

I've really got to say, after having one, the ORC sucks.  I just can't stand the concept of limiting yourself.

Front site post=Awesome

Low profile front gas block that enables to to mount an extended floating rail system=Awesome

Setup that prohibits you from doing either without having to replace factory parts=Not awesome.

If you want something nice get an LMT 14.5 or a Stag Smith & Wesson M&P-T, or better yet an LMT MRP.

ETA:  You know you want to be cool like this:

The Bushmaster ORC just doesn't make sense to me.  It doesn't have a front sight, OK I can deal with that, I will put a flip up on the gas block.  Oh wait it doesn't have that either, it has a shaved FSB like a basement dremel job almost.  My Brother in Law bought an ORC as his first AR a few months back and it would put some tight groups on paper but I still looked at it and just didn't like it.

You asked for suggestions, here is mine...........CMMG
