This should be a simple "problem" for you - my infinitely more knowlegable ARF associates!
I just came into a wee bit of money and thought I'd get some nicer stuff for one of my AR's. Soooo . . . I got a DD Omega rail, Vortex FS, the best VLTOR stock assembly, MAGPUL rail covers, a Leapers deluxe VFG and a 120 lumen Aimshot xenon light w/'remote' pressure pad.
Sounds good, so far - right?
Well, the problem is: I don't know which of my AR's to mount the stuff on!

I have an RRA home-build which I'm keeping as a KISS carbine. So, that one's easy enough!
But, I have two other Bushies: one is "standard" - the other, a Carbon15 (painted camo - a damn nice job, I must say!).
The CAR15 is outfitted with an EOtech 550, folding foregrip and the same Aimshot light set-up. The standard carbine has a cheap foregrip, cheap light and a rattling butt stock - and a BSA holographic sight. (which actually works quite well! I like it!)
As you can see: both are flat tops.
I believe the weight of the new gear will be about the same (or < what's one each, now). So, that's not really a factor.
Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about having the new toys - and I'm sure I'll still be in good shape: no matter which way I go. Still, it's always good to hear what others have to say - and I sure don't want to go through the hassle of putting the stuff on one (the Omega, especially), only to end up tearing it all off and putting it on the other!
Note: if you look closely at the pic, you can see the zip ties: holding the front stock tight together. It torques open a bit - from pressure on the VFG. This fact gives you an idea of which way I'm leaning in this.
What say you? Any advice/suggestions?
Thanks! Danny
Oh! This all reminds me: I need to order a decent, flip-up, rear sight for the standard! Feel free to opine on that, too!
