JPS Barrels took over all remaining stock when Warren plead guilty to mail/wire fraud.

JPS Barrels also owns what was left of American Spirit Arms.

I bought a lower from them and a year later after puttig it together found that the front pivot pin holes where out of spect and could only crack the upper and lower 40 degrees.

Other then that its nice. I guess I wont be sending it back.

No shit.

I hadnt heard about Warren pleading guilty to anything.  I thought they went under due to the lost business from the whole lower issue with a member here at arfcom.

I didn't even know he was on trial. I liked the lower I got from him, but that was before the mess he got himself into here.

Well, I am glad I didn't get involved in that mess.  I recall that thread being page after page of, "they'll be here in 2 weeks."  "Just wait another 2 weeks."  "2 more weeks."

Months later...

"Should be about 2 weeks."

Yuck.  I got their LPK but that was because I didn't realize they were that bad.  I honestly thought it was a small company that couldn't keep up with growth.  Hopefully the sale of the company refunded peoples money.

don't know how much that played into it but it definitely wasn't pretty.  cncguns/khalan finished/is making the ar45 lowers and people are happy w/ them.  just need to find some range time so i can go sight mine in  cncguns and khalan are now doing a ar10 lower and i think are in the process of doing a fal45 and possibly a ar47 too - lots of projects and imo good people do deal with

Gotcha.

But back to the OP's question, I was at Scottsdale Gun Club today and they have a  brand new Ameetec upper.  I guess the company is still producing.

How much did they want?  $800 non-members, $600 members?

 One million dollars.

They only had a really bad name on that other forum because of a few guys who had bad dealings with the former owner, who no longer owns the company.  This was like 5 years ago also and that seems to be the one complaint always raised, the owner.  The other complaint was when ASA had some bad QC issues, again more then 5 years ago.  ASA is under completely new management with better parts.  They will still work on any ASA gun under warranty regardless of when it was purchased.
