| I just bought a Colt 6520, and am worrying now that I should have gotten the 6920. I didn't want the removable handle though...opinions please. |

My opinion is you have a fine little rifle. If you ever want to mount optics to it however you will end up buying another upper for it with a flat top. Do not talk yourself into selling the rifle you have. It is a modular weapon you can at some time in the future buy another upper. |

What you have is the SEXIEST weapon ever devised. Want proof ? Look at how many 6520 owners leave them completely stock, or with absolute minimal modification. EBR's in general just scream to be messed around with, but with the 6520, almost any thing you'd do would degrade the package....it's that good !!! And I haven't even touched the koolaid factor. Mine is a dept. trade-in(most likely for 6920LE flattops) and was built in '04, so it has that awful shaved BC. That and the grip ( for a MIAD) are the only changes this little sweetie will EVER see. Then too, she has a fondle factor that's off the chart !!

WHAT HE SAID! I have all types, and I have 3 6520s that are the all-around go-to rifles that are placed around the home and vehicles. The light weight begs to be left stock. My tricked out entry M4 and other carbines are cool and functional, but they all make me want to love and squeeze my 6520. |

The AR platform is about being light. The 6520 does that better than anything. With a sling and a full 30rd mag, mine weighs 7lbs. The above posts about the 'fondle factor' are dead on as well. Mine has M4 handguards and an A1 pistol grip, and that is as much changing as I'm about to do. To the OP, and all the others...enjoy! (Whatever you do, don't go looking for the picture of the IDF honey with one slung across her hiphugger clad butt.....) Moon |
