Its time for me to get an ar

I'm out in the country and have room to shoot.  I'm calling it my farm gun, will be used for critter problems and get tossed in the truck alot.

Wife 5-2 115 lbs will also shoot it.  Garand is a problem for her beyond 8 shots.  Garand can be too much for some of my critter problems.

the local gun shop has rock rivers and bushmaster.

I'm leaning towards a retractable stock, and starting with 10 mags  Also it will have a chromed barrel.  Everything else I'm clueless.

also tell me what to stay away from!

Get a CMMG. 16" midlength(easier recoil) lightweight profile Ar15. Get the A3 flatop upper with a detachable carry handle. You can always put a scope or optic on later.
If you know you dont want a scope there is the A2 upper which is an awesome choice for simplicitys sake(my favorite rifle has an A2 upper). CMMG is affordable, reliable and has many choices, check them out.
