My name is Chris and I'm new to this fine community. I've been trolling through the forums for the last few days and I have to say, I am very impressed with the amount of information this community has put out. A bit about me, I guess. I am former Airborne Infantry, I was stationed with the 82nd ABN for 3 years and then became a Correctional Officer with the State of Arizona. So, I'm not new to firing M-16 and M4's; but I am new to the civilian world of AR's. :) Now, I have a question for you. I am going to be buying the following AR from a friend of mine. It's in mint condition, has had less than 100 rounds put through it. Can anyone tell me from their experience with Rock River Arms what I should expect? Any suggestions on upgrades that I should make to it? Thanks for your input, it'll be greatly appreciated! My future AR purchase |

Welcome. The RRA entry Tactical is sweet, you won't be disappointed. I don't think that rifle needs any upgrades. But that's just my opinion. Lots of folks like hanging a bunch of crap off their rifles but that's not my thing. The only thing I might do is save a little cash and put a nice optic on it. |

I don't even think I'd really modify it with optics. I enjoy shooting open sights, to be honest. I was just curious if there were any trigger work I might consider having done to it or anything. I have thought about possibly putting some Crimson Trace laser sights on it, (I have a CT fetish, admittedly). I was disappointed when Sig Sauer came out with the P229 with custom Sig CT grips installed...right after I purchased a stock P229! But, not too much else is going to really go on it. I dont' understand how people can have so many different accessories on their weapon, ya know? Maybe...maybe I could understand having a Swiss Army knife add-on on the front grip for those hard to uncork wine bottles, but that's about it. |
