does this model have ramps??   just got a dept. trade in excellent shape with

jaygee,

Not true M4 feedramps like the 6920 - more of a "dremel" type of feedramps. I had a 6520 and traded it because it would heat-up really fast since it's a pencil barrel...also, in a carbine platform I prefer an A3 to mount optics such as an EoTech, Aimpoint, ACOG, etc.

my $0.02

Cheers,

Sakic #19Mine does and it was made in June of 95. It is one of the few Grey Colts that dont have the LEO markings. They are true M4 ramps anodized and everything.

It's hard to tell in the photo, but my 6520's ramps are not anodized and they're not precisely uniform.  The gun was purchased new, so I assume they're Colt's doing.

Mine are fine....the 6520 is a good "basic" carbine. Not a good as a flat top...but good still the same.

The 6520-F is "the schnitz!"

Colt doesn't dremel in feedramps.  They have a cutting fixture.  There are however, a lot of 6520s out there that had the M4 feedramps cut after the uppers were anodized.  Probably because there were a lot of A2 uppers made and anodized without the ramps  that were then used for 6520s, so Colt applied the feedramp cuts.

ETA:  very nice carbine Molon!

What's a 6520-F?

Yup, them be my feedramps;  not sure how you would "date" a 6520LE, but
mine has .155 pins and no sear block.  Also has A2 upper and 16" pencil,
as you would expect.   This is just fine for me as I've got other carbines for
more serious play, but if I was gonna go hunting in WeeVee, this would have
to be the cat's ass !!
