Does anyone know where I can get an  extended/larger Selector Switch for my Stag Model 2T 5.56?

I have smaller hands, and if that safety was a little bigger it would make it alot easy to throw it in the heat of the moment.

I think that one gives the houges or MIAD some grief, no?

My ambi safety from DPMS hits my index knuckle when I depress it to fire with my thumb, was thinking of grinding it down, not a big prob, but I notice it.  Might be the ticket for you.

I have this installed on all my AR's with Hogues and Miads....no!

I may be weird, but I like an ambi safety selector, because I find it easier to use my trigger finger to manipulate (I'm right-handed), and I don't have midget hands.  Maybe try that and see what you get.  They're pretty cheap.  If it sucks for you, sell it on the EE.

ETA:  You could try the RRA star selector.  I liked it better than the standard, but not as much as the ambi.

SWEET PIC!

(You're not much help, though, unless you are gonna pm me a quote to home-make me one)

I am a decent carpenter, but not much of a machinist, yet.

That plastic handle is from Home Depot, in garden department, where waterhose accessories are.  It actually is one of the waterhose  valve handle.  Basicly I just file the stock selector handle flat out, drill and tapped a small hole in the center of the stock selector ( either 6-32 or 8-32), use an Allen screw ansd screw the together.  I'll see if I can get you some pics tomorrow, it kind of hard to explain.

No, I understand.  I can grind, file and tap things.  I had thought it was all steel construction, and I am not too good at shaping steel, yet.  I prefer a steel selector, but now that you gave me the idea, I can swipe a steel lever off something else and do the same thing with it, if I see a piece of metal I like.  Thx

You can flatten out the handle, weld a flat piece of steel to the filed down selector handle, and file it down to whatever shape you want, then spray paint or blue it.  Goodluck.  Tam

I suppose I could.  I would probably want to plug weld it, but I have plenty of dies and such that I could shape it with, if I were to just give it a try.  Oh, and I know a guy that has a chemical/treating business that preps steel for offshore drilling rigs... probably just get him to drop it in his vat with one of the runs of parts.

Make sure post pics and let me know about the finish product, I might have to buy one from you.  Tam

I didn't say I couldn't reach it, I just have to adjust my grip, which I would prefer to not have to do.

Have you tried using an ambi selector and bringing it down with the base of your trigger finger?

Dont know if that makes it any more reachable for you, but its an idea.

Lumpy, that's what I do. I have big hands, but still like using my trigger finger to switch the selector from "fire" to "safe". I still use my thumb to switch from "safe" to "fire"...

That's what I suggested 10 posts ago.
That's what I do.
