Anyone tried the DPMS gun in the 260 Remington? How does it compare to the 308 version? I know about the 6.5 Grendel, but the 260 seems it would be better for longer ranges, and could even reach out to 1000 yards if needed. I know the 308 will reach 1000 yards if needed too, but the 260 would have a flatter trajectory and resist the wind better.

Look up an article Zak Smith did on the .260 - it is an awesome round!  From what I remember it was a better at distance than the .300 Win Mag but with less recoil than the .308...

Yeah I have seen many different articles and such talking about how good the 260 Remington is, but I was wondering if anyone had tried it in an AR-10 format rifle. The ballistics of the round with a 123gr Lapua Scenar bullet have it beating a 300 win mag with a 190gr bullet out to 1000 yards. Not to mention the recoil is close to half that of a 300 win mag.
