I've never used either. Paul E with MSTN has a post buried somewhere here that is the best (that these eyes have seen) comparison of different triggers. Includes both the Timney and a McCormick, FYI. I do know that, just as Timney had some issues with their trigger, McCormick, also had issues with a previous version. I've heard wonderful things about both. Before you make a decision, I think you are going to have to make a decision and proceed down the appropriate path: Do you want a wonderful feeling trigger for precision shooting, or do you want a "duty" trigger for a rifle that may be relied upon for things other than punching holes in paper. |
| I heard the timney was held in place by setscrews, any truth to this? My CMC went in really easy, just pop the trigger pins in and your done. Not as nice of a pull as my gieselle but still a good trigger, will have to put many more rounds through it before I can comment on reliability. |

It may well be a case of six of one and a half dozen of the other. I've got a single stage CMC in a CMMG-built lower that beats the stock trigger, but I don't have enough use on it yet to say what it's like in the long term. It was a very easy trigger to install. In some other guns I have JARDS, and I think, so far, I prefer them. |
