Well, after being captivated by the Kalashnikov world the last several years, I suddenly got the urge to read up on my first love: the AR15.

I was amazed at the technological advances the AR had to offer.  I was always aware of the huge amount of accessories available for this particular rifle, but man, I've obviously been out of the loop for a while!

I'm really impressed with the gas piston operated guns.  I read/hear there is a substantial increase in reliability and far lower maintenance with these weapons.  Being predominantly an AK fan, this "new" technology intrigues me.

I believe my BRD has been rekindled!

What are some of the things you like about the AR that I need to catch up on?

Thanks.

New to the forum and this is my first post.

Another person who have been has the same epiphany. Especially after spending 3 hours at the range trying to get my Saiga 7.62x39 Conversion properly (should I even use that word??) sighted.

There I am with the AK sight tool against a post trying to get enough leverage to move my front sight over. Ridiculous!!

I made the mistake about a month ago of seeing a flat top AR with flip up sights. Now I'm seriously considering  a AR build.
