You will need to drive out the taper pins in the front sight base and remove the roll pin for the gas tube.

What gas block are you looking at?

I am about to do the same thing.
from what I have been able to find out, LaRue's gasblock covers the unfinished parts of the bushmaster barrels.

I have a DPMS four railed gas block and I love it! Haven't gotten anything to put on it yet but look forward to it in the future.

Chop your sight tower as detailed in the sticky in the Build it Yourself forum. It's cheap and it'll stay in place better than any block with set screws. All you need is a dremel with a couple of cutting disks, a grinding stone, and a couple of hours.

Sorry to hijack your thread but, does anyone make a railed gas block that still uses taper pins? PRi flip up still use them?
