Unfortunately I live in a state with it's own AWB.

Can anybody tell me if Bushmaster makes a Birdcage Flash Hider that is AWB compliant???

A local dealer here in NY is selling a Bushy carbine with a fixed telestock and Birdcage FH.

He tells me it's NY compliant, but as far as I know, any 2 of the so-called "evil" features on a semi auto rifle with a detacable mag, classifies it as an assault weapon.

Now I know muzzle breaks are legal here, but I checked Bushy's site and it's clearly a Birdcage FH.

What I want to know is, do they make compliant FH's for states like mine, or is this dealer full of shit???

Any info/advice woul be appreciated...

Tackmaster,
From my personal experience with Bushmaster, i have never seen a compliant A2 birdcage flash hider, the only one that comes close is an Izzy.. Also they can't even use a A2 on a 14.5 carbine because it wouldn't make the 16" oal length, but the fact that the AR in question has a fixed/pinned telestock, unless someone did it themselves, i would call Bushmaster, and give them the serial number and ask them, i always found them very helpfull and knowledgeable about post ban rifles, if the dealer won't give you the SN, then i would think that there was something fishy...

On a post ban AR rifle with a pistol grip and detachable magazine, a flash hider will never in any instance be legal. What the above poster stated is most likely the case, it is an izzy brake. Not to be rude, but are clear on the difference between brakes and flash hiders? A brake is going to have a closed front end. Here is a bushmaster izzy flash hider and here is a bushmaster izzy brake. you might have just been confused. I would like to doubt that this FFL is not selling rifles with ban features as he is playing w/ some felonies.

Castillo,

Like I had already stated in my post, I checked Bushmaster's site and the rifle in question "clearly" has a Birdcage FH on it.  No confusion here, I'm well aware of their Izzy Brakes and familiar with the differences.

Weaponizer,

I called Bushmaster and talked to their tech guy and explained the situation to him.  I also gave him the serial # like you had stated and he told me that the firearm is definitely not NY compliant.

I guess I won't be buying anything at that guy's shop any time soon.

Anyway, thanks for your advice/help...
