Is there an idiot proof trigger that can help me get some tighter groups? DPMS has several options Chip McCormick (drop in) JARD Trigger (installed) 2 stage What is the easiest trigger to install with good results and a reasonable cost? I have never replaced one. |
Triggers are very easy to install in the AR15, and most are 100% drop-in. There is a plethora of triggers out there that you can try; you don't have to purchase direct from DPMS. CMC, Timney, JARD, Geselle, RRA, and more are all available from vendors online. |

I prefer single stage, which is why I went with JP. Its about 3-3.5 installed; the sear disengagement adjustment seems to make it feel lighter/heavier, depending on how close to the edge you want to go with that adjustment (JP have specific minimums they recommend). My kind of lame accuracy standard is being able to consistently hit the center (2"?) of a clay target at around 120 yards with casual aiming off of a bipod. By casual aiming, I mean centering the crosshairs and letting go, not turning it into a 1000 yard competition of zen-like concentration. |
