Ok, so I have my first AR. I am getting it where I want it, and I have a few more things I want. I have a table listing what I have, and what I have left to get. Has anyone ever owned any of this stuff? Impressions? Links to products you like better? Linky |
Yes, I already know that. I purchased it at a gun shop because I didn't want to wait to have one shipped, and I am an impulse buyer. The only thing I am not sure I regret is that I might have gotten one that takes 123s, if I had it to do over again. Reason being, my flashlights take 123s, and my stock saddles stores 6 of them, and then I would have 3 fresh reloads for whichever accessory went out first. The bright side is that my handles have storage in them, so at least I can carry 4 more AAs for the EOTech in them. |

About your weapon light choices. The m900 is huge, and heavy. You may want to check one out before drop cash on it. Also if you use the Surefire G2 you will eventually want to upgrade to the Z32 bezzle for the shock resistance to preserve your bulb life. In fact if you chek the Equipment Exchange here and look for a seller called Brightflashlights he si awsome to work with. He offers a budget package that has the G2 light and weapon light head. Also the combination of teh Eotech and the Aimpoint 3x magnifier is very nice. A bit heavy but very nice. |
Thanks!! That is exactly the kind of information I want. I am still debating the weaponlight. Weight and bulk were one thought, and the other things rattling around in my head are: 1) In a SHTF/TEOTWAKI situation, it is going to be alot easier to find another 1" (Or 3/4" & electrical tape) flashlight to put in my current mount. 2) I already have a xenon and LED head for my E2E, so I might put that in there. I can also get a high output head for it, and then I will have quite a bit of versatility. 3) Sure would be a lot cheaper to use what I have. 4) I like the ergonomics of my current handle, and the fact that it has battery storage. 5) I can get parts & such for my current setup locally on a whim, and not have to order something and pay shipping all the time OTOH, the more expensive one would take up less real estate on my rail, and it is a sure bet that it is built to LAST. As to the 3x, thanks! I was a bit concerned about that. I want the versatility, but just didn't know if they really work well together. |
Thanks, but that runs counter to my overall persona: clicky |
