I am looking to buy non gas direct AR variant (piston driven/gas tapp) Does anyone have experience with the ZM type AR15? I am interested because it has a shorter overall length. Vin |
ZM's weapons are not exactly piston AR's. Think of them as having a very long gas key on the carrier, a shortened carrier, and a recoil spring placed over the gas key/tube out front to eliminate the buffer tube. It is still a D.I. AR, which I consider a good thing, but it is a redesign of the recoil spring location to allow for folding stocks.
