I am trying to decide which would be better for duty use, an LMT 16inch upper with a Larue FF tube or an LMT MRP CQB 16inch CL upper.  Any input would be helpful and reasons why one would be better then the other.  I do plan on putting back up sights on which ever one that I go with along with an Aimpoint M3.  Thanks  (No I cannot afford both)

The MRP is a better platform to use a rail mounted front sight on as there is no junction between receiver and handguard to deflect.
If you were going with a barrel mounted front sight, then I would go with the regular LMT upper as it uses standard barrels and allows unlimited customization and replacement options.

If the MRP is what you ultimately want, just get one now and be done with it.
You are NEVER going to make a regular upper be as strong as an MRP is.
