| I just installed a badger tactical latch (large size) on my lmt charging handle. The problem is, there isn't enough clearance b/t the latch and the charging handle. In other words, I can't pull the latch far enough back to disengage the hook part of the latch to allow me to pull the charging handle back. I was thinking that I could use a dremel tool to grind away a small bit of the charging handle to create enough clearance for the latch. I hope you guys can make sense of this post and understand what I am trying to describe. If so, does anyone have an opinion? Thanks |
| Never had any problems like that but I would give badger a call. Their customer service is beyond good. I'm sure they will be able to hook you up with anything you need. I called them once for a part I was having trouble finding. They chatted me up a bit, hooked me up with what I needed, and sent me a free tac latch to boot...they made a customer for life that day. |

If talking to them on the phone doesn't help solve the problem, I'd be willing to bet if you offered to send the latch and charging handle to them, they may just make it work for ya, and send it back! ETA - I use one, and have had zero problems with it from day one. (happy customer here) |
| I'm pretty sure I have it installed right. It moves back and fourth smoothly. I compared the charging handle to that of a rock river and like another poster stated, it looks to the eye that the lmt handle might be slightly beefier. I think I will take a little bit out of the charging handle with a dremmel. It won't take much at all and if somehow I mess up the handle, not too much will be lost. Thanks |
| You may want to give Badger a buzz anyway even if you do the work yourself. Its always good to let responsible companies know o ant issues with their products. It gives them chance to make improvements or take steps to make sure similar problems do not occur again. Besides...free stuff! You never know! |
Just encountered the same problem with a new Bad Ord latch on a colt charging handle and CMT upper. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=333777&page=1 |
