Hello, long time reader but first time poster. With the upcoming of my 18th birthday (June 14th) I will soon be making my first AR15 purchase I did find some in stock on ddsranch: Lower Is this a reliable dealer and has anyone ordered from them? Does anyone know of any other dealers with these lowers in stock? Thanks in advance. P.S. Heres the build I plan to do. Upper: LMT 14.5in upper, perm attatched vltor fh, denny's super duty m16 bcg, C4 diopter HK style irons. Sorry for the long first post, Im just excited. |

I wouldn't. If your going with the LMT 14.5 p.fs your not going to be matching up the lower and the upper. The POF forged versions are gone unless this guy has some old one's still in stock. You not building a precision AR, your building a 14.5 CBQ fighting rifle with a forged upper receiver. The benefit to the higher cost for the billet lower adding a little more precision in your case isn't really worth it I think for the AR your building. That company sells Mega lowers for 109 which is a very good price for a very good receiver. I'd go with that before the POF in this case if it was me, but LMT doesn't teflon-moly their uppers, so either way the finish will be off from the teflon-moly coating both the POF and Mega's have. If that's an issue for you, than you should look at other lowers with straight anodizing. A Stag (CMT) lower for example or go all out with LMT and get an LMT lower with Sopmod stock package. Thanks for the replys. riggsy: Glad to here you like your POF lower, and although its only a cosmetic issue I just cant bring myself to like that trigger guard. Achilles1: I've been back and forth between the LMT lower and the POF lower. It may seem silly, but for the price I just don't like the looks of the SOPMOD or the ergo grip and I can't seem to find any LMT defender 2000 lowers without the SOPMOD. If I were able to I might be leaning towards the LMT lower. What really draws me towards the POF lower are the HK fire control engravings. With the Generation III lower now out and the dwindling supply of Generation I lowers, I'm afraid if I don't buy now its going to be extremely hard to find one in the next few years (this will probally be my last purchase for the next few years as college will be taking most of my money). As for the matching of the upper and lower, even though most of my other decisions are based on cosmetics, this does not bother me too much (I know it doesen't make sense but afterall I'm still a teenager), and from what I've seen in pictures it is not too far off. Thankyou for the happy birthday comment. jackal2001: Although the idea of an all purple rifle is very exciting, that beautiful lower you posted makes me want the POF even more. I wish Ranier still had them as I will be ordering the majority of the rifle from them. 11287: Thats good news about ddsranch.com, I just felt a little uneasy about using them without having any feedback. Anyone have any pictures of a POF lower on a LMT upper or any opinion on ddsranch? |

DD's Ranch is great to do business with. My friends and I have bought a multitude of lowers from them. Great prices too. Place your order online, make sure to verify they have your FFL on file, and the lowers will ship on time. POF lowers are really nice. I have an early forged one, as well as their later generation billet ones. Megas are also really great. If you like the HK markings, POF's are the way to go. You can also get HK markings on Spike Tactical lowers. www.lanworldinc.com They are made by LAR which are the same as doublestars. The Spike's Tactical lowers come with a full auto marking as well. If I were putting all my time and effort into one build. I would pay the extra money and get the POF lower. btw - I have all of the above lowers, so I guess you can't really go wrong. I hope you put as much thought into a quality barrel as you are the lower. |
Your pics need to be uploaded to phothpucket, then it's just a matter of copy and paste. |
