My son has been bitten by the AR bug.  I told him I would build him a rifle on the cheap.
So I started digging in the spare parts cabinet and this is what I found:

Colt M4 upper, slightly beat up in need of refinish.
Colt bolt carrier.
New Bravo Co. enhanced bolt.
YHM Spectre length FF railed handguard, with rail covers, again slightly beat up.
YHM low profile gasblock.
New A2 FS and crush washer.
CMMG M4 6 pos. buttstock and tube.
New Armalite LRPK, and old style KNS pins.
Hogue grip.
6 thermold mags.
Old Adco green/red dot 1x sight in weaver mounts.

So all I was missing was a barrel, lower receiver, recoil spring and buffer.
Out came the plastic, a quick couple of phone call, 4 days later UPS delivered a E.R. Shaw 16" 1/9 chrome lined HB, a RGuns lower, and buffer/spring.

The barrel didn't have M4 cuts so out came the dreml, small round files and emery cloth.

Then it was off to the garage to spray on the OD green Molyresin.  After the parts cooled a quick build.

25 yard battle zero.  1st shot out of the mag was low so I adjusted. Next 4 together.

Most of the parts were from old projects, or outdated as my wants changed.  And spares socked away for future needs.

Very nice rifle Dad!

I too built my teenage son a rifle of his own from spare parts. His rifle is built more along the Retro lines.
