Sorta new.

Don't read much on Armalites here - is that because they don't sell partials?  Or are they crap - or rare in the AR world?

Just got my first AR - an Armalite M-15 National Match, 20" ss, removable handle, flash hider, 2 stg trigger (sub 4# break, no creep). Magpul grip & trigger guard only mods.. And a Holosight for the rail.

Mostly for long distance bench work (Leuopold VX-III 4.5x14) - or ranch.  I'm no urban commando. I'm not going to a 'match'.  Connected 10 rounds @ 100 w/match ammo without much effort.

I did NO research - so flame me.  I didn't research the scope either.  It may be abundantly clear I have more money than brains.....

Armalite is among the best money can buy. Every AR in my safe is presently an Armalite. A lot of people buy Bushmaster or RRA because it's cheaper. IMO Armalite takes flack only from people who can't afford them, or have never owned one.

EDIT: Not trying to flame anyone. I've owned Bushmaster and RRA too in the past, but the quality is not the same. Armalite is a pedigree by far.

Currently my only ar is a armalite. M15 A2 20 inch hbar. My next will also be a armalite, but with shorter barrel and a removable carry handle.

Thanks.  Yea, it wasn't cheap - but I'm a fool for SS. The owners manual cracks me up as well - like it was written by humans (even tells you some triggers have added creep -because of lawyers, and how to fix the creep).

They had a shorter barrelled Wilson with a single stg trigger that couldn't have broke over 2# - and a S&W M&P performance center ($$).  But the Armalite got my attention.

I like the flat top and Armalite scope mount (not cheap, allows further forward mount) - also no change in print @ 100 yds if reinstalling scope at same index..  Let's me use the Holosight as well - so I can be a range commando.

Next toy you should consider is some night vision. See www.nightoptics.com/. Great people to work with, and a fine product.

I purchased an Armalite M-15 Carbine last Fall and love the rifle's fit, finish, trigger pull and overall accuracy (don't forget the life-time warranty either).  The problem is that when I got "the bug" to purhcase a 20" barrel AR recently, I purchased a Bushmaster 20" barrel A3 and it isn't nearly as nice as the Armalite.  I wasn't able to get the Armalite with a fixed front site and the Bushmaster was $75 cheaper, so I brought it home instead.  I should've held out and have gotten a matching 20" barrel Armalite instead because the Bushmaster's finish is uneven, the trigger is terrible and the handguards look like they came out of an armorer's parts bin!

I think for your uses an Armalite would be great. They do have a front sight that is held on with set screws, not pins. I guess this is preferred by match shooters as the pinned front sight is theoretically less accurate. I have seen one Armalite (a 308) that came from the factory with a canted front sight. Not a big deal, but something to watch for.

I think Armalite makes some of the best AR15's around.  I've owned 3 of them, and all 3 had great fit and finish.  They seem to be very accurate from the box too.

But it is also very high quality.  They also tell folks how to get a sheen on the anodizing - if you like a pretty ar.  I am already board with 100 yd work - one hole is boring.  Heading to 200 this weekend...  As for the 20' NM - it's a heavy piece - but that's waht I wanted (even though counder to the whole Stoner original intent).

I own a many different types of ARs including Colt, Bushies and stag among others. I have several Armalites and they are among the most accurate and well made rifles I own. In my humble opinion, Armalites are great!

I have 3 Armalite rifles. I have an M15 midlength carbine flatop, an M15A2 20" with a NM trigger. I also have an AR10A2 carbine. I like Armalite rifles, and their customer service has been good to me.

ETA: They are a good company and they manufacture a good product.
