You can use an AR15 kit w/the select fire piece, but it won't work on the Auto fire setting. All it wil do is leave you with the hammer back being held by the auto sear, because there's nothing on the semi auto conversion kit to trip the auto sear. On the other hand, I see no reason why the select fire kit made by Ciener wouldn't work on both types. I'd check with the manufacturer to confirm though, since I have no direct experience w/those kits. My own unit is an Air Force surp unit, and it's semi auto only. It dores hold the bolt open on the last round though, which nobody elses does.

AFAIK, the Ceiner M-16 kit is the only one that does full auto. The USAF (Rodman) kits and the M261 will work in the M-16 since they were designed for the M-16. Semi auto only, of course. Have no idea about the Colt commercial kits. |
