| Does any one know which barre; twist the USMC A4 is issued with. I've heard 1/7, and 1/9. I've also been told that some of both have been issued; if so which configuration, and what ammo is the Trijicon USMC ACOG calibrated for? |
I'm in an 0311 fireteam and our's are 1/7..........not sure sure about the ACOG question. |
Fuck yeah dude, the 20" A4 kicks ass, I hope to some day own one. |
Very, very sexy indeed. |
DemonLoneWolf, If you like sir I have a 20" 1/9 that i'm trying to get rid of....let me know what you think? -Rich- |
I put KAC RAS HG on my LMT DEFENDER M4 14.5 w/ SOPMOD They do Fit Rock SOLID and looks great but better yet shoots EXTRA ACCURATE |
THat is a beauty! But you MUST replace that CH with an ACOG or Aimpoint! |

Ok just to double tap. 1 in 7 shooting mostly M855. Little bit of the M262 stuff out there. Some of out higher ups didn't want us having it thinking it was hollow points. M5 Ras Aimpoint, eotech, or Acog, or carry handle is approperate. Acogs are either TA31A4, 31M4, or 31F(our truck driver had an F) KAC broom handles, some guys buy Tango Down. Various units issued harris bipods and or surefire lights(but us infantry dont need that type of stuff, make sure Motor T has surefires they need it) Any sling you can find on the market is being fielded. I mostly saw Specter slings, but there is the spec ops mamba, black hawk, eagle, etc. Most guys don't have very many rail covers, 2 or 3 seems to be about normal. Guys love to loose them in CAX. No issue BUIS, you can carry your carry handle on you, and switch it out in combat if you have to. We saw the Army and NG using Matech and KAC 200-600meter. I put a Troy on mine. |

Our battalion received 25ish new M-16A4s before crossing the LD in 2003. I've played with them and OIC'd the BZOing of new batches post LD. I don't like them. For one, I'm not a fan of the 20 inch barrel for today's mostly urban environments. Than the addition of the KAC RIS adds another pound of weight so its up to 9 pound empty. Add the RCO, PEQ-2, visibile light its probably in the 12 pound area. It definately adds value in that all your mounts are now standardized with the KAC RIS because pre A4 (I was there) you had a special mount for the PEQ-2 via a barrel mount that poked through your handguards then you bolted it over your top handguard. We had a few VLI lights and no ACOGs. As always, its your money to play with but... if you're going to build one of these as a model for your own SHTF, Red Dawn, Katrina, rifle than I would reconsider the size and weight issue for your own METT-SL. If you want to build one of these as a historical/sentimental piece have at it; I wish I had that kind of liquid income. |
