I just picked up my first AR two days ago and have a couple of questions. I have a Armalite 16" M-15A4. I heard somewhere that Armalite is only compatible with DPMS. Can I swap uppers with my buddy's Bushmaster and visa versa. His has 20" and mine is 16". Other question is, were can I find cheap 1000 round ammo cases online. My friend and I want to go in halves but the only thing I can find is Wolf 55gr. I have heard bad things about Wolf and would rather not use it, but have heard that with proper cleaning that Armalite and Bushmaster do good with Wolf. Is there anything out there around the same price as wolf. |

Agreed. You need to stop speaking with idiots. All brands of standard AR-15 are compatible with all other brands of standard AR-15, with only a couple of exceptions: - There are a few manufacturers that have produced bad parts or bad runs or even had bad years or bad decades, and their parts don't fit even their own guns, let alone others (think Olympic and, I'm told, Vulcan) - Colt intentionally produces odd pivot pin sizes to make it more difficult to perform full-auto conversions |
Swapping uppers should not be a problem. You were probably reading about AR-10s where compatibility issues are more common. |
