Who is using MGI products, and what do you think of them?

What do you think of there Modular system?

Whats there quality like next to LMT, RRA, exc?

I'd prefer answers from people who have handled these products personally.  I'm especially interested in Non MGI affiliate input on MGI's modular lower and new railed modular upper.

I would prefer not to hear second hand info ie.  "Well person X said."  "I read online or in an article."

However if you could post a link to online "non MGI affiliate" evaluations, testing, exc. I would like to get that kind of info.

I have a first generation QCB upper that I use for test firing barrels.
It's well made.

I have personally handled several generations of the modular lowers at various industry events.
I assembled one for a customer a couple weeks back.
It was also well made.

I use their adjustable gas tube valves in the manufacture of custom length adjustable gas tubes.
They work good.

I'm not affiliated with MGI in any way beyond being friends with them and a happy customer.

I'm debating using an MGI tube valve or a Minimized Adjustable JP Gas Block.

Decide based on where you want the adjustment to be located or what kind of gas block/FSB your handguard system requires.

The JP adjusts out to the left side of the gas block and obviously requires replacement of the gas block.
The JP is more likely to be able to close completely down for single-shot suppressed use.
The MGI hides under regular handguards and will adjust through an existing hole in those handguards.
This MAY be an issue if you want to run a rail system and mount something over where the gas adjustment is located.
With the MGI, you probably need to drill an access hole in the rail system to reach the adjustment screw.
The MGI may not fit under some rail systems.

Speaking of the JP adjustable gas block, is it possible to use any of the various rail mounted front sights with it?

I use a 1st gen QCB upper and rate-reducing buffer on one of my ARs, and am very happy with the quality and overall usefullness of them-can't tell you about the newer QCB though.

There are two different standards for rail mount front sights, those designed for mounting on railed gas blocks and those designed for mounting on railed handguards.
The versions made for gas blocks should work fine on JP's gas block as well.
The versions made for handguards would all be too low when mounted on a gas block.
I believe that DPMS offers a railed gas block with an extra tall rail that MAY (I don't know for sure) get the rail up to the same height as a handguard.

We'll be at Knob Creek this weekend, with our products.

There was no official booth space available, so we won't have a booth.
But we will have banners up near the entrance and will be close by most of the time.
We'll have our MGI jackets and hats on, so you can recognize us.

You can get a chance to see the MGI Hydra Modular System in person at this event.

We plan to have an LMT rail-mounted M203 on one of our Hydra carbines, and will be shooting some 40mm out of it at the event.

I think I have been handling the few requests a year for those.
MGI sells me their gas adjuster blocks.
I offer the service to custom install them on any type of AR-10/AR-15 gas tube.
This also allows them to be installed in almost any location at almost any angle that is appropriate to make it easier to access the adjusting screw through existing holes in the handguard system.
