These (the 9.9" full sized unit) are currently on sale at Midway.  They look very cool, but do they have any advantages over the standard buttstock?

well, if you like crafts you can wrap it in para chord or tan shoestrings.

I like mine. Sturdy and the foam makes a comfortable cheek weld.

It weighs less.

Also has a comfy rubber buttplate.

I like the foam on mine, the rubber butt pad rests well on the shoulder. These feel nice, hard to explain.

I've got one on my AK...I love it...had it on a 20" for a bit...foam makes it very comfortable.

I have one on a 20" and am thinking about adding one to one of the two new Bushy uppers I am expecting. I really like them.

However, site sponsors here sell them at near that price daily, and no shipping $.

I would recommend sponsoring them here first.

Thanks to all that replied.  I did not realize that the OAL did not include the rubber pad, and I think an A1 length stock would fit me better.  Have any of you used one w/o the pad?

Ace makes a shorter one too. I believe it is referred to as the Entry Model.

I have one on my 458 socom AR.  The foam is nice, and the buttpad helps.  Much better than the M4 collapsable stock.

The foam gives a nice comfy cheek weld.  I have plans to put my lower with the Ace stock onto a .458 Socom Upper when RRA finally gets their shit together and rolls them out.

+1 to the buttpad helping.  You really don't need it on a .223 rifle but when you go from a regular AK stock to this stock for a 7.62 rifle you definitely notice the difference.

If I were going to get another ACE stock for a .223 AR then I would go w/ the Entry model w/ the largest buttpad they offer.  It is short...w/ allowing plenty of cushion.  On the opposite end if you chose the full length then I would get the smallest buttpad they offer.
