Iam putting a Vltor low pro gas block on a 20'' bbl.
-What rail type do I need FF or non FF.
-With no FSB to lock into will there be much play in the rail?

Thanks for the help.

If it's a low pro gas block, you need to free float it.  20" barrel, then I believe the gas tube is 12" I believe.  You'll need a rifle length free float rail system/tube to cover the gas block and put a front sight on it.  If you get a flip front sight/A2 fronts sight, make sure its the one for a rails, and not for a  gas block because they are different hieghts.

ETA: no play on the rail as long as its tight on the barrel nut.

There is a Vltor block in there some where, you are going to need a free float, a 12 inch will come up to the receiver end of the gas block on a rifle size gas system, you may see a little bit of the gas tube.

a longer rail will cover up the gas block.

pic below is a 16" mid-length with a 13.2" rail.
