How does Bindon Aiming Conceptâ„¢ (BAC) work with the ACOG. Is it as good as the EOTECH?

I am currently leaning towards the EOTech 551 and want to get a magnifier when it comes out. But the ACOG has built-in magnification. I just like the unlimited eye relief of the EOTech.

Probably will use the sights out to 100 yards and CQB for SHTF type scenarios. Thanks.

In my circumstance the BAC is much slower the an Eotech or Aimpoint.  Clearly they both have roles, but knowing what distances and where you'll be shooting is a good starting point.  I shoot mostly inside 100 yards and love both my Aimpoint and Eotech.  Inside that distance I find the ACOG slower, but admit I haven't practiced as much with it at those distances. Outside 100 yards the ACOG is very nice.  It really depends on what you are using it for. Anything with magnification will be slower including the aimpoint or eotech with a magnifier behind it.  Trijicon has a good demo of the BAC, if you haven't seen it.

Why not kill 2 birds with one stone (presuming that price isnt a huge issue for you)?  Purchase the TA31DOC - it has the magnification combined with the dual illumination as well as a MRD site for the close-up fast aquisition stuff.

I've tried all 3.  I have a Eotech on my personal rifle, that I also used at work for patrol.  Loved the Eotech.  I now carry the departments rifle, with an ACOG on it...... I want my eotech back!!!  The acog is overpriced in my opinion and not worth the cost.  My preference in order is 1 - Eotech  2 - Aimpoint  3 - Acog.

I've got an aimpoint and think it's great, but I have to agree with jenec.  I've tried my dad's eotech... and it rules.  He's a sniper with that thing out to 100 yards easy.  And it's very fast.  I've never actually used an acog, but I've held rifles with them on.  They're nice glass.  Very clear picture, but I don't think they're really that great for the price.

Perhaps I am a bit confused about your price issues.

Eotech + Magnifier = more than the cost of an ACOG
*and ACOG's illuminate without needing batteries

If you are looking for a scope w/o magnification, then I would go with an Eotech, but if you want magnification, then I still think that an ACOG is a better choice both in price and functionality.

We weren't considering the magnifier, but you're right on that.

The important factor is highlighted in red.

Acog's ARE the best once you pass 75 yards.
Inside of that, the nod certainly goes to EoTech.
If you routinely shoot at 100yds+, then you WILL love the Acog.

I own 2 Acog's with 1 more currently inbound.
I also own 2 EoTechs, an Aimpoint and an Elcan so I speak from a little bit of experience with all of them.
