i know this is the wrong fourm, but NO ONE ever responds on the sks fourm......

I just ordered a sks off my local gun dealer, he said it was in good condition and its $199 before tax'es and dealer fees......

I know unissued ones are 219 usualy... he said they have alot of clorifoam and they require alot of cleaning so this good condition one would be better.

I dont know if he ment its in good condition, or the good conditon rateing like.....

bad, good, exelent, new, unissued.

maby he just ment, like, its good, its fine, like next to new.... not geting all foramal terms.

He also said how if you get the ones around 130-150 you might get a bad one.

So do you think i got a good one, will it work alright? I mean, 199 is decent priced sks, so its probbly good, right?

Sounds like this guy fed you a line. You could have got a nice SKS for around $100

Its a yugo if that makes a diffrence?

But im thinking, by good condtion, he might not just mean decent. He might be saying, its really good. They sold me a remington 870 marine magnum in great contion, almost never used... a few months back, so i doubt theyd rip me off...

I got a excellent condition unissued matching one from OOW awhile back for like $125. Currently yugos are the cheapest around. Now $200 for a nice chinese or russian would be a really good price.

BTW its cosmoline not chorifoam.

I wouldn't pay more then $112 for a used Yugo.

A brief, and surely incomplete, survey of online sources from a few days ago showed "new/unissued," "Like New" and "New Condition" Yugos available from ~$170-280, with some also being noted to be "out of stock" or backordered.  I've been to almost every gunshow in the Houston/Pasadena area in the last year, and the shooters grade (i.e., dinged stocks, worn bluing, much wear) are climbing into the $140-150 range.

So if you acquired a "new/unissued" for $199, you got a decent, not the absolute best, but decent deal in today's market.
