I experience occasional stuck cases with my Stag 15. Even my Denny's Super Duty BC group hasn't cured the situation.(although it has lessened significantly) From all i've read the carbine gas system with a 16 inch barrel is a problem system.(see below) The LMT enhanced carrier is supposed to lengthen dwell time so chamber pressure is lessened to that of a A2. Does anyone have one and does it work as advertised? Thanks.

It works but I think you have other issues like chamber problems (unless this is steel wolf ammo we are discussing).  Assuming this is not a wolf ammo issue, I would get a RMA to the factory.

Youve got something else going on me thinks. It should have worked with the stag BCG, if it doesnt your wasting your OWN time and money when its stags fault.

I agree.  The standard systems work perfectly on thousands, if not millions of others.  Your problem lies elsewhere.

The purpose of the enhanced dwell time in the LMT carrier is to increase the longevity of the bolt in carbine length gas systems more than a reliability enhancement.

Ok with the Stag BC, I had one failure to extract and one stovepipe in 200 rounds. These were my reloads. Before you guys say anything, i've been reloading for a while and have used the same loads with no problems with any of my Mini 14's(which is a smaller 223 chamber). With the DSD, i've had no failures to extract or stovepipes with my reloads and 2 failures to extract with Wolf. This is the polymer wolf and there  was no gummy mess in the chamber.(like the old stuff did)

I'm confused. According to LMT. they say their BC affects dwell time and at the same time reduces chamber pressure. Isn't pressure directly related to the  most M4's extraction problems? I would think the extra 1.5 inches of barrel length  added to the 6.7 inches beyond the gas port, (making for 8.2 inches) further aggrivate the problem?

Well just for the hell of it, i ordered a LMT enhanced carrier. Besides lengthening dwell time to allow chamber pressure to drop , it's supposed to greatly reduce fouling. I've read some good reports in the archives. For $120.00 bucks, why not?! I will post a report when i test it.

Rather that keep trying to fix the symptom, I think you'd have been better off to get a midlength gas system barrel and fix the problem.  For the cost of the two BCG's you could have simply changed the barrel.

Stag needs to get with the current decade and offer midlength barrels.  </hijack>

True, but I can just use the other BC's in other future rifles. Also, it can never hurt to have spare parts. Besides. it would be cool to see if the LMT BC fixes the problem.

Agreed. My STAG is my first and last STAG and 16 inch carbine gas system rifle. Actually i'm thru with carbine gas with any length barrel. It's middy and rifle all the way.
