I'm torn between the Leitner-Wise system, the POF system, and the Sig system.  Might get 2 of them but which is the flat out best.  Or are they actually pretty darn close in performance?

POF hands down

I have no dog in this fight.  The gas piston design is something I'm definately interested in.  I have only witnessed a small sampleing from one company, but I was not impressed.  Others have experienced simular results (lack of reliability):

Thanks, that's exactly where I'm at.  Looks to be some good designs out there and I want 2 more AR's this year while we can get them but which one?

Masada

Yes I intend to get the Masada as soon as it is available, but in the meantime I plan to add an AR every three months while I can.  There is some good info on the Arms and Tactics section on the XCR and the 556 but nothing on the Leitner or the POF which surprises me.  Right now I'm leaning toward the 556 because I rely on a Sig 229 every day for my life.

I went with the LWRC.
Got one upper yesterday and have another coming early in the week.
I'm not saying the others don't make a good product.
It all has to come down to doing your research and going with the one you feel most comfortable with.
I like the way LWRC shows clearly how their system works, showing the complete system uncovered, explained and demonstrated.

Also an animation of the operating principle.

I understand that with LWRC system, that if you're going with a suppressor, you can just put it on and go. More testament to it's simple self-regulating design.

But again, I'm not saying the others don't make a good product.
I just felt most comfortable with the LWRC system, and I would recommend that you consider it if you're going to go with a gas piston upper. YMMV     Ed
