I have a RRA Elite 16 CAR. How do you know if the barrel is chromed or not?
Also, some offer opinions that chrome moly barrels are more accurate than chrome lined.
Opinions out there?
AND, is everyone having delivery problems when ordering new uppers, lowers etc.?
out.......

The difference in accuracy is slight at best and probably never noticed by the average shooter.  Chrome lining is for wear resistance, function and ease of cleaning.  I have 9 AR's and only one is chrome moly only.

To look for chrome lining, check the firearm and make sure it's unloaded and safe, then look at the muzzle.  You will see a chrome circle around the edge of the muzzle if it's chrome lined.  You will also see the chrome from the breach end in the chamber.  You may have to use a flashlight to see it under the flashhider.

As far as ordering, I think RRA is running behind.  Better to check one of the dealers here on the EE if you are looking for something....

Thanks for the reply!
I have 4 SKS rifles, all with chrome bbl. The RRA also has it. I ordered a 20" flat top upper from del-ton without the chrome option. It will be  a paper puncher anyway, so not having to worry about corrosion or long times between cleaning is not an issue.
I was only curious about wear issues.
Also had read on the forum about accuracy being better without plating, due to inconsistent thickness of the chrome.
Time will tell
