I have an instructor (former LE<sherrif deputy) whom has told me DPMS has a military contract. I have never read of this nor heard of this. Anyone out there know anything about this ?

No they don't (if he's referring to them producing Military weapons).
They submitted a rifle for the SASS program, but it lost the competiton to KAC.
