Is the more expensive version worth it?  Are those extra inserts necessary?

And what's the advantage to the trigger guard?  I think I remember hearing it drops easily for gloved shooting.

Its the factory trigger guard that drops, not Magpul whether in the front strap or the aluminum one.

I prefer, seperate metal trigger gurad, no finger groove front strap, second back strap, battery carrier grip storage.

Decide what you want and see if you need all those parts or not.

Well in that case, what's the point of the MIAD trigger guard?

Well in that case, what's the point of the MIAD trigger guard?


Saves you some money, although not enough to justify not getting the aluminum winter trigger guard.

Magpul stated their trigger guard was not meant to function as a winter trigger guard for those using winter gloves.  It was intended for those who use shooting or tactical gloves
