Hi, I am new here, and am getting my first AR soon.  For personal protection and Law Enforcement, is there much performance difference between the 16" BCWA3F 16SL and the 14.5"/17 with suppressor BCWA3F 14AK?
Both guns have the six position telestock, both have the removeable handle.  I was wondering more about the accuracy out to say 200 yards.

Thanks,  Karl

Either one would be fine for what you want.

I have a Bushmaster Patrolmans Carbine and my partner has the same weapon.

We were out at the range 2 weeks ago and with only an EOTECH 512 were hitting a LaRue Sniper target consistently at 400 yards.

At 200 yards I would say it is a no brainer.  Recommend you zero at 50 yards and you are GTG from up close to  300 yards.

Good luck with your choice.

Go with the 14.5" and never look back. Your next one can be a 16" . . . then a 20" and perhaps an 18" in between.

Thanks.  I can't believe all the great info on this site.

I have both.  I like the 14.5 as it is a little shorter than the 16 inch.  I have put a Surefire M500A and an Eotech on the 16 inch and have left the 14.5 alone for now.

You would be surprised the weight difference when you start adding all the goodies to one of these handy little carbines.  Good luck, you can't go wrong with either of them.
