a freind of mine just baught a hi point 9mm carbine, but he says it wont take regular 9mm ammo, he said it took some shorter 9, not 380 though,can anyone give me some advice for him

Yeah.

He's wrong.

It takes 9x19mm Parabellum/NATO/Luger.
