The best? www.ktordnance.com/kto/products.php Because it is not cast although cast will work and many people have finished cast receivers with no problems. But it is also the most expensive and who knows when they will start making them again. |
Check out the Buld yourself forams. You will get a lot more help. A lot of people like doing there own AK's they even have buld parteys for them. 80% lowers are a lot easer to do. KT ordance is the best sold billet. There are people who also will do there own uppers. Kind of like rebulding your own engene in you car or truck. Check out the ATF web sight for the proper paper work. Before you start. The KT15 bye the secrect gunsmith is a great tutorial. Have fun!

So only a felon would build his own huh? I guess you have never head of anyone doing it because they enjoy a challenge or might actually enjoy working with their hands. Some people actually take pride in the fact they can do something other than toss money at someone to receive a ready to use product. While there have been some felons that have made their own firearms not every one who builds one is a criminal. Yes, it makes sense from an economical standpoint to buy a ready made receiver as they are cheaper but then all you have is something that you bought, not machined or built by the owner. |
+1 Reminds me of when the Cell Phone First Came out. Politicians were saying "They are the tools of drug dealers and street thugs!"  They use that same excuse to try to ban ALOT of things.
