I am having trouble deciding on which trigger to buy for my new varmint build. I have used the JP trigger in the past and had liked it. JP advertises that the lock time is reduced by half with their system. I have been looking at the jewel because you can set the trigger to a lower pull rate. My question is about the Jewel vs. the JP trigger, does the Jewel trigger have as fast of a lock time as the JP. I am not considering the Geissele trigger because it is close to $100.00 more. I have the RRA National Match in anopther build and it is ok but I would like something better for this build.Comments please.

Save up the $100 and get the Geiselle.  It is faster and a way better trigger that the two others you are talking about.  I replaced both of my Jewell triggers with Geiselles, that was the best improvement on those two guns ever!

The JP speed hammer has less mass for the spring to move so with equal spring pressure the JP hammer will have lower lock time.

Jewel AR triggers are pretty bad when it comes to lock time, not the lightest hammer and a week hammer spring = slow lock time.

Well thanks for the info. With that is the Geissele that much better than the JP set up that it is worth $75-100 more?

Are you specifically looking for a single stage or two stage trigger?
I run a Jewel and it's an excellent trigger, but it is a two stage which some people don't like
In a single stage, look at Timney.
I got one specifically setup at 2lbs and it's an amazing trigger.

Have a JP FCG currently installed and love it...absolutely no problems.  Saving up the money for POF's Gen II lower w/ the Timney FCG though...

Just my .02 but we are talking millisecond's here. Both are VERY good, get the least expensive of the two and spend your money on ammo to practice.
