I posted this in the Parts forum but not a lot of attention there.

I have a preban Carbine that came with a 3 pos plastic stock, and One that came with an Aluminum stock.

Which is the "correct" stock. Whats the difference or intended difference. At first I didn't like the Aluminum, but now I really like it. I seems to balance the weapon out and I like the 3 pos because they have a smaller profile than other collapsibles.

The aluminum stocks came out first, then the fiberlite (plastic). Both are "correct".

Yep the nylon covered aluminum stocks would be great for a Vietnam era 'retro' build of a XM177 or GAU-5.

Plastic stocks would be later say 80's and beyond.
