Ok folks I have always wanted to build a clone of a Colt Automatic Rifle which the Canucks used as a SAW but hate to spend 1000 plus bucks on an upper. So if somone where to build a modern SAW off a AR platform what would be on your wish list, I am thinking so far the following Something with a heavy barrel 1/7 twist, A2 FS on it Flattop upper Monolithic style forearm VLTOR clubfoot A2 buttstock Those new snazzy POF billet lowers A bunch of BETA CMags lol |

I think he's talking about the Colt LMG, a magazine fed squad automatic, Colt even made a version with a quick change barrel, but the magazine fed aspect just isn't suitable for a SAW. As to the Beta C mag, I don't think I'll buy another one. Mine jams a lot more than the plain 30rd magazines. If I were doing an LMG clone, it'd have a heavy barrel, but otherwise it's the same as any other A4 style rifles. |
