Mods...  Thanks for locking this thread.  That's just sick.

Wow! Just wow! I didn't need to see that.

What the hell were they shooting a dog for.  Looked like it was just lying there.  Dumb!  And why in the hell would you fim it?  Dumber!

There have been some problems with dogs.  They become aggressive and sometimes need to be put down.
As for the dog "just lying there" it appears that at the start of the cut the dog already had blood on it.  You don't know what happened in the moments leading up to that clip.

Exactly.  When a dog takes up residence in your compound and tries to bite soldiers it has to go.  We put a few down using the same method and the result was the same when there was no headshot.  I didn't think it was any big f-ing deal to hit them in the head, but some folks evidently found that to be a challenge.  They were generally pretty peaceful when we shot them, as it was usually after the fact (post incident) when we got around to them.  Still, I am bothered by the memories and would not take video of that kind of crap, let alone post it.

Didnt watch it, love dogs, I own 4 dogs. I have no problem though with our guys over there killing any and all dogs that they even think looked crossed eyed at them.

I agree, but this isn't the place to broadcast the video for everyone to watch.

Agreed to both above.  I was raised with dogs, my stepfather was dog handler.  We have several dogs now, and they are part of the family.
I've also had to put down a few dogs, and I didn't like it all.  I damn sure didn't video it, I don't understand why the hell they did.
The OP that posted this in the technical forums has posted it in GD as well.  Maybe he has an agenda of his own, I don't know.
But I am not at all sure that the clip is what he is trying to portray it as, and neither is he.

wow,  they managed to lock the thread in the AR Discussions, but the same GD thread is insane.

I agree with banning the poster. I've seen 2 post from him and both were bullshit.

did someone hold a gun to your head and make you watch it?  Was the warning on the video page not enough?

I love dogs, but I don't have any problem with the video.  People have videos of shooting coyotes, prairie dogs and everything else.  People have no problems with watching those.  Why is a ferrell dog any different?  Sure they could have shot it in the head and ended it immediately but we can't all be perfect.

Because it was gratuitous and stupid.  And not a worthwhile addition to the forum.  If someone wants a place where they can say anything they want without censure, this isn't the place for them.  We have community standards here.

Very sad indeed.

That really pisses me off.

If the animal has to be put down, that’s fine, then make it a clean kill. There is absolutely no reason to walk up to the animal with your rifle/carbine held out like a handgun and just plunk away at it. Take aim and do the job right.

I don't disagree that maybe this wasn't the best post in the world, but then again I couple probably find 1000 posts just from TODAY that, are for the most part, a worthless addition to the site (yes, my post right here would be an example ).  But at a site where we hold the constitution and it's beliefs to such a high level why all the uproar over this?  If you don't want to watch it, then don't watch it.

Yes I realize that this is a private fourm and the constitution certainly doesn't apply here but come on.

I'm thinking the OP was trying to show how ineffective rounds can be if shot placement is poor.  He might also be trying to show us how it is over in the sand box in the real world.  Was the title in the best taste...  nope but again, I could point out 100 every day that aren't that great.  Did he glorify the animals death in the post?  To me he didn't.

I seem to remember a post a couple of months back where some people used pigs to demonstrate shot placement effectiveness.  The pigs were shot numerous times and were most certainly ruined.  I don't remember such a uproar.  Here it is unknown what exactly has happened prior to the video.  The animal had already been wounded and it quite reasonable to assume that the dog could have attacked the solders and that they were defending themselves.

I love to rant, but I'm not gonna.

All I have to say is this is an ASPCA lawsuit waiting to happen, at the least it will bring negative publicity to this Web Site.

What the hell, is that suppose to mean?  You say that as if it is a good thing to bring negative publicity to the web site?  I have 5 hunting hounds left, I've had upwards of 24 at one time, if any of them even snarled the wrong way you put the dog down!!!  A dog is meant to be a companion a a defender of you.  if the dog is not doing either and is being a pest he is no longer a service to you.  I have fortunatly never had to put a hound down because of thet but I have known of a few good hounds that had to be put down!
Your comment is even more disturbing thatn the oringinal post!

F#k'n Right! People are dumb F#ks. Everything that evryone has said is spot on. Bad publicity, sick, irresponsible.  Karma is a bitch. My belief is that God keeps a tally. and it's -1 to the shooters and -1 to the Original poster.

They can come over to my place and I'll let my dog have at em one bite at a time. How many bites to the nuts will it take??

That was a clinical experiment conducted by LaMas (spelling??) Ammo to show the effectiveness of the blended metal technology bullets.  It was not target practice.  The pigs were all shot in the heart and died rather quickly.  It was preformed by a professional.
