honestly they don't seem much more pricy than other brands. I'd thought of picking a couple up before I decided on Noveske

It's not just the lower receiver, it's the entire lower assembly, but Cavalry Arms makes the Mk 2 lower in other colors, check out the Cavalry Arms in Industry, got some really nice pics in there.

I don't know of any receivers that are -anodized- in a color other than dark grey/black because it is difficult to get type III hard coat anodizing to take other colors.  So far as I know, Troy is pretty much the only ones to figure it out and I'd pay top dollar for a lower with their flat dark earth anodizing.

But there are many normal black lowers that come with a black teflon coating over the anodizing anyway and these could be made with any color fo teflon coating on the market.  Some of the "Stinger" lowers made by Mega had green teflon instead of black.  Leitner-Weis sells lowers in tan/flat dark earth.  There were even some Colt rifles shipped covered in a real-tree camo pattern.  What all that means is that you should feel free to consider sending any lower you choose off to a place like Lauer Custom to have it made whatever color you desire.

Thanks, A friend and I decided to build a couple of PIMPED bench guns, Calv. isn't going to cut it since we both want to build our own target stocks and handguards for them.

I agree the Troys Ind. are really nice but are vary hard to get even  in black.

Heres the Troy Ind in Flat Dark Earth anodizing.

ETA wording fix.

There's anodizing and there's anodizing.  Contact them and ask about getting a part refinished with a type III "hard coat" anodizing in anything other than black or grey.

Troy and KAC are the only ones to try it and KAC hasn't gotten it right so far as I've seen.  Troy does better but take a close look at Shark's picture and count how many different variations of "brown" anodizing you see in the pic.  The variation hasn't stopped me from buying a rail and a pair fo sights but it shows how difficult it is to get a consistant color with the harder anodizing.

SOCOM Manufacturing used to do this.  JP Enterprises was the first big manufacturer to do so.  Ultimately it comes down to what you want.  It's aluminum and can be made any color you want with tons of different patterns.
