I just bought a colt 6920 and took it apart.  This is my first AR and I don't know if I put it back together right.  Is the charging handle suppose to free fall when I pull it back and lock the bolt in place with the bolt catch?  Mine does this.  It will fall forward when tilted with the bolt locked back.  Did I screw something up.  I bought from SAW and it has their reliablity package on it.  It doesn't seem like it should fall forward like that.

Once the bolt is locked open, the charging handle will move freely in both directions.  It should not move once you slide it forward and the latch catches.  Enjoy the rifle, and welcome to the club.

So when I lock the bolt back, I am supposed to push the handle back forward and latch it shut?

Cool I thought I lost a spring or something!  I knew I couldn't have though.  I was trying to figure out how to get that handle to stay in place like the bolt.  No wonder I couldn't figure it out!  Thanks guys.
