I'm having FTEs. The bolt is cycling and trying to feed the next round in while the 1st round is still in the breach. I've replaced the extractor spring with a newer stronger spring. I've even tried one of the o-rings around the extractor spring, but that didn't help. I've also tried different ammunition, but that didn't work either. Other than replacing the extractor, what else should I be looking for? Thanks. Hardwarz |

Read through this link: TROUBLESHOOTING. Though it speaks of a 10.5, same issues may dog your AR. |

Yeah , what he said. Go back to the basics, make sure there is no oil/grease in the chamber. Funny shit, I had a 4 year "Marine" come into the shop I buy from with his brand new DPMS 16" rifle complaining about FTEs and saying his buddies at the range say that this gun is a POS and "I want my money back". I asked him if the chamber was clean. He says," Yeah, I cleaned and greased it". The dumb ass had put gun grease in the chamber and it would not eject a case if it had to. I asked him who the hell told him to put grease in the chamber and his reply was," I just got back from four years in the Marine Corp, I think I know how to operate an AR-15". I laughed at him, took the rifle, cleaned all the goop out of the chamber and gas tube, loaded a 30rd mag and went out back and emptied it as fast as I could fire it. Handed him his "POS" and said, " Now what's the problem?" He just shook his head and stared at the ground. And this is a Police officer now, actually wanted to head up a SWAT team in this small town near where I live . Hah, that's funny. Also, I had a 11.5" frontend that didn't like to eject right 100%. It ended up being the gas tube was bent slightly, draggin on the bolt carrier key and allowing gas to escape just enough that it wouldn't eject all the time. straightened the gas tube and, BAM, whole new weapon. Hope this helps. 300m |
